Radhastami

Saturday, September 22nd 2012 we celebrated the appearance day of Srimati Radharani. She is the greatest devotee of Lord Krishna as the ultimate personification of His "hladini-shakti" - His divine pleasure energy. It is celebrated by special songs of praise, and a sumptuous feast is offered to Her. It is the tradition at ISKCON Montreal to also offer her kitchen articles, since she is considered to be in charge of the temple's kitchen. She received nice gifts this year. Thank you all for your contribution.

Panihati

This year ISKCON Montreal celebrated the festival of Panihati (Transcendental Picnic) on Saturday August 18th 2012 at Plage St-Zotique.
The program started at 10 am with Bhajans/Kirtan followed by Arati, lecture and Prasadam. And of course as usual after Prasadam, we had an ecstatic Harinam & book distribution around the park.
There was lots of fun whether you are a kid, old or young. There was activities for everyone.
As every year, for those who liked to participate there was swimming, soccer, cricket etc as well.

Janmastami

The most important and well-attended festival of the Vaisnava calendar is the "mahotsava - great festival" of Sri Krishna Janmastami, celebrating the appearance day of Lord Krishna in North India over 5000 years ago. Held in a grandiose manner all over India for many centuries, Janmastami has by now become known all over the world as the greatest of all Indian celebrations (along with Diwali). Devotees of the Lord everywhere fast until midnight, the actual time of the Lord's advent in Mathura Dham (south of New Delhi).
