Our mission is to promote the culture of reading, as well as grant access to, vaisnava literature in a variety of formats.
We offer a collection of vaisnava literature in English, French, as well as a few in Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, Arabic, and Hindi. There are adult and junior collections as well as a small multimedia collection to borrow from.

Memberships are purchased on a yearly basis.
• Individual: $25 (Student $20)
• Family (up to four persons living at the same address): $50
• Additional family card: $10
• Replacement for lost or stolen cards: $2
Late fees: $2 per item per week (up to 10 weeks until item is declared lost)
Lost or damaged items: $10 per item in addition to the cost of replacement
Maximum of three loans per card. The loan period for all items is 3 weeks. Members are responsible to remember their due dates. Fees apply to late items (please see above).
Members can renew library materials during opening hours as long as they are not overdue or reserved.
Reservations may be placed at the library during opening hours. A maximum of three reservations per person may be placed at one time.
When the requested item becomes available, the library member is contacted by telephone and must come the following Sunday to the library to borrow the item.
Please note that if members do not pick up the reserved item, a fee of $2 per item will apply.
Suggestions for Purchase
Members can make suggestions for purchase by filling out a form available at the circulation desk during opening hours.
There is a limit of 5 suggestions per year per person.
Suggestions for purchase will be reviewed according to the selection policy and the annual budget.
Donations are greatly appreciated!
Donations of library documents (books, CDs, DVDs, etc.) are accepted at the library during opening hours. Please note that all donated materials will be reviewed and evaluated according to our selection policy. If they are not integrated into the library collection, they will be put in the on-going book sale and any funds will go to improving the library.
Monetary donations are accepted during opening hours and are used to purchase new items for the collection and/or preparation materials for library items. Tax receipts will be issued at the end of the year by ISKCON Montreal.
On-Going Book Sale
Library collection items that are no longer circulating, that do not meet our selection policy, that are old, that have been replaced, or that we have double copies of are placed in the on-going book sale. Anyone may purchase these items by donation. All proceeds go to improving the library collection.
The Bibliothèque Bhaktivedanta Library is entirely run by volunteers. We are grateful for the service they perform for the whole community.
